Iran shut the strait days before this clip went out: the blockade began after the 2 March 2026 strikes, the IRGC declared the waterway closed until further notice on 12 July 2026, and it was still effectively shut on 1 August 2026. The economic-strangulation limb is borne out by the numbers, with Brent at $118 a barrel on 29 April 2026 and more than 10 million barrels a day disrupted for over 100 days, though scoring should note the closure was already under way when the video published on 3 March 2026 and was briefly lifted in June.
